Huntington Beach Surf City USA® Marathon

On Super Bowl Sunday, Huntington Beach hosted the Surf City USA® Marathon, which attracted over 18,000 runners. Jacques Sallberg of Pasedena broke the course record for the full marathon and one of Huntington Beach’s own, Leng Klukken, won in the women’s bracket.

In the Half Marathon, the winner of the men was Joseph Chirlee of Georgia and for the women, the winner of the Half Marathon was Heather Gibson of Carpinteria.

In the 5K, the winner of the men bracket was Kevin Brody of Brea, Ca.
The winner of the women’s 5K bracket was Cheryl Smith of Laguna Beach, CA

The event was a sell out and a great time was had by all, even Orange County Pain Management’s own Sebastian Gonzales, who ran the Huntington Beach ½ Marathon in under 2 hours.
