There has been lots of hype about boot camps for fitness over the recent year and mostly because of cost of 1-on-1 personal training.  The math is plan and simple:  Individually pay a trainer up to $100 an hour for personal training or split the cost with 10 of your friends, leaving you with more in your pocketbook and sweat on your body.

 

Now the downfalls of a boot camp… you have a higher potential for injury and over-training from poor form.  There is less instruction and there in lies the danger.  Not to mention you will not be training for your specific goals, as most boot camps are focused on weight loss.  If weight loss is your goal you are set, but if you have higher expectations to hit a personal record in a running race or play specific sports at a higher level you need something more specific to your training needs.
