Cycling Video Analysis

Cycling Video Analysis - Huntington Beach CA

Why is Cycling Video Analysis important?

Have you ever ridden behind a friend and seen there legs/ shoulders/ feet doing "funny" things, especially when they are climbing?  I have.  I told them about it after the ride and they either don’t understand or care.

Fact is, this is exactly like having gait issues with running.  Assuming you are fit for your bike, you should be put into the "perfect situation" for having an optimal pedal stroke.  If you don’t you are not only losing power but also at a larger risk for overuse injuries, putting you out for the whole season.

What is an Overuse injury?

Overuse injuries occur when a muscle of the body is NOT working, as it should and another one HELPS OUT and gets injured and tight in the process.  Overuse injuries develop scar tissue, which feeds into a cycle of repetitive injuries and down time.

What will happen in a Cycling Video Analysis?

One of our Active Release providers will follow you on a ride, to capture video proof of the problem, or we will have you ride a trainer in the office.

What will we do with the findings of the Cycling Video Analysis?

We will go over the video TOGETHER and we will test them against standardized functional movement testing to confirm any muscular problems.  If there is a problem we will set out a plan of attack which may consist of Active Release Techniques® (ART®), home strengthening program or a more advance program with a trainer.

Should I get a Cycling Video Analysis when I am injured?

A video analysis can reveal a lot regardless of injured or not but we recommend getting it done for PERFORMANCE purposes and not when an injury gets so bad it will hinder a training session.

Does this take the place of a fitting or my coach?

NO… we are not experts in fitting or coaching.  We are interested in looking at how the body is moving on the bike and making you aware of how it can effect your training.
